With the increased use of MIDI for effects pedals, and the desire for those pedals to be smaller and smaller, the MIDI cables have started to adapt to this development. The standard 5-pin DIN connector is becoming less and less of a standard. A large number of brands are now using 1/4″ TRS jacks for their MIDI and other companies are coming out with MIDI boxes to accommodate those. Now, Morningstar Engineering has developed a MIDI box that uses 3.5mm TRS jacks to allow for eight MIDI connectors.
