As pedals become smaller, builders increasingly use TRS connections for MIDI signals — requiring either a MIDI box or a dedicated MIDI to TRS patch cable to connect your gear. This cable pairs a Disaster Area Designs right-angle 5-pin DIN connector with a Square Plug SP550-S ultra-low-profile 1/4″ TRS connector, making it one of the most pedalboard-friendly MIDI to TRS patch cables available. The 8-position rotatable barrel on the DIN end solves the frustrating reality that MIDI jacks don’t all face the same direction — use The MIDI Configurator to select your ideal exit angle before ordering.
Wiring matters with TRS MIDI. Most manufacturers follow either the Type A or Type B standard — compatible brands include Empress, Alexander, Meris and Jackson Audio. Chase Bliss uses their own proprietary wiring, which is why we offer all three options. Make sure you select the correct wiring for your pedal at checkout.
