Description
Previously the two options for pedalboard cables were either bulky soldered connectors or unreliable solderless connectors. Not all soldered or solderless connectors are created equal. The need for a reliable, low-profile soldered connector is felt by all those who want to squeeze as many pedals on their board without cable failure. In comes the SP400. At a projection of just 0.326″ (8.3mm) it is 20% smaller than its nearest pancake connector (Switchcraft 228/229) and is capable of fitting side-by-side on most loopers. Furthermore, the SP400 is designed to snug fit 4-4.5mm cables for optimal strain relief and improved protection against electromagnetic-interference (EMI). At Revelation Cable Company we are making the SP400 available with 4 cable options to give you more control.
BTPA CA-0678 has the lowest capacitance of the four options. At just 20pF/ft (66pF/m) it is one of the better choices for those who have long cable runs. One of the benefits of the CA-0678 is purely aesthetic, there are seven color options: black, seafoam (aqua), red, white, purple, grey and blue. Want your cable to match your pedalboard or have a rainbow of colours on your board? We have you covered! The braided shielding assists in preventing radio frequency (RFI) or electromagnetic interference (EMI). While slightly less flexible than the Mogami 2314 it’s still perfect for pedalboards due to its diameter of 4.5mm (0.178″). This diameter also assists in strain relief because of its tight fit with the connector. And while the CA-0678 isn’t the easiest choice for looper/controller/switching systems with the SP400 alone, using the SP400 with the SPS4 straight plug makes it perfect for that application. https://revelationcablecompany.com/product/sp400-to-sps4/
