Historically, stubby straight connectors have been problematic in their lack of strain relief, oversized exit hole and length. The SPS4 solves these problems by having a projection of just 0.827″ (21mm), an exit hole of just 0.189″ (4.8mm) and strain relief via two screws that clamp the cable. In fact, the SPS4 is the smallest soldered straight connector with strain relief on the market. At Revelation Cable Company we are making the SP400 available with 4 cable options to give you more control. All options are high quality having different features that are preferred over-against the other depending on your set-up.
Mogami 2314 is the most popular cable for the SPS4 and the standard for this application. This is due to the small diameter of 0.155″ (4mm) and a low capacitance of 33.5pF/ft (110pFm). It’s a perfect fit and prevents high frequency roll-off. The 2314’s small diameter and spiral shielding is the most flexible option. This makes it the perfect choice for stereo pedals or loopers that need side-by-side connectors.
BTPA CA-0678 has the lowest capacitance of the three options. At just 20pF/ft (66pF/m) it is one of the better choices for those who have long cable runs. One of the benefits of the CA-0678 is purely ascetic, there are seven color options: black, red, blue, purple, grey, aqua and white. Want your cable to match your pedalboard or have a rainbow of colours on your board? We have you covered! The braided shielding allows assists in the prevention of radio frequency or electromagnetic interference. While a little less flexible than the Mogami 2314 it’s still perfect for pedalboard due to its slightly smaller diameter of 4.5mm (0.178″).
Van Damme’s Pro-Patch is flexible like the Mogami 2314 and has a low capacitance that nears the BTPA CA-0678. While the same diameter as the CA-0678 its composite jacket and stranded shielding make it more flexible.
