Revelation’s Wine Red guitar cable is one of those colours that changes depending on the angle you’re looking at. Sometimes it looks like a deep red and sometimes it almost seems black. The Wine Red begins with red Gotham GAC-1 Ultra-Pro cable but adds black Techflex. Slightly thicker than our Techflex cables that use Van Damme cable it has a diameter of 7.4mm (0.29″). It has a super-low capacitance of 21.3pF/ft (70pF/m) and boasts a Double Reussen Shielding (spiral shielding wrapped around twice in opposite directions). The Wine Red cable is finished with G&H Nickel connectors with black housing.

For the longest time, my go-to cable has been Bill and Becky Lawrence solder-less cables. While I love the high-end clarity of the low capacitance and their reliabilty (a standard knock against solder-less cables, they’re not without their flaws. The plugs are incompatible with a surprising number of jacks, the cable is prone to flopping/curling in inconvenient spots, and they’re not the most stylish.

With Ol’ Winey (is it weird to name a cable?), I get to have my cake and eat it too. All the highs and built like a tank, but the plugs are top notch, it’s the perfect balance of weight and flexibility, and it looks like a million bucks.

    Best. Cable. Ever.
