Description
This is our custom-sleeved build on Van Damme Pro Grade Classic XKE — you pick the length, the connectors, the sleeving colour, and the heat-shrink, and we solder it by hand to order. The XKE is a genuinely low-capacitance cable at 27.4 pF/ft (90 pF/m), so your top end arrives at the amp the way it left the guitar. At 0.276″ (7mm) sleeved, with a PVC and neoprene composite jacket underneath, it stays light and flexible under a strap, and it coils flat at the end of the night instead of fighting you.
The sleeving is MDPC-X, chosen from nineteen colours — solids, tweeds, and two-tones. Pair it with your heat-shrink colour and print, and no two builds have to look alike. This is where the old White Rider and Grand Blue cables now live: same Van Damme XKE core, same connectors, just ordered by colour instead of by name.
Connectors are Neutrik PX series in black and gold, straight or right-angle, in any combination. Add a silent plug at the guitar end if you swap instruments mid-set — it mutes the signal the moment the jack breaks contact, so there is no pop through the PA. Every cable is soldered with lead-free, RoHS compliant silver solder and tested before it ships, and it carries our lifetime warranty.
A note on silent plugs. Neutrik has discontinued the red silent-straight plug (NP2X-AU-Silent) and replaced it with the NP2XX-Silent. All cables now ship with the newer plug. We no longer offer the silent right-angle plug — it did not meet our reliability standard.
If you would rather skip the sleeving, we build the same Van Damme XKE in its bare jacket for less. And if you want a lower-capacitance core under the same custom sleeving, the Sommer SC-Spirit XS comes in at 23.2 pF/ft (76 pF/m) with an 18 AWG conductor.
