Named after the Fender custom colour that inspired it. Sonic Blue MDPC goes over a grey XKE jacket rather than a black one, which keeps the blue pale and soft rather than letting it fall towards navy. White heatshrink with silver print finishes it.
This was our second cable in MDPC, and the one that settled the question of whether to keep using it. Against the Techflex we had been sleeving with, MDPC gives roughly three times the coverage and is noticeably softer in the hand. Nothing we’ve sleeved since has used anything else.
Underneath is the Van Damme Pro Grade Classic XKE, the most flexible cable we build. A 24AWG silver-plated oxygen-free copper conductor sits over a foam PE dielectric, inside a bare OFC spiral shield and a conductive thermoplastic screen — the spiral bends where a braid would resist, and the thermoplastic layer bleeds off the static charge that flexing would otherwise turn into crackles through the amp. Capacitance is 27.4 pF/ft (90 pF/m).
MDPC sleeving sits outside the jacket, so it changes nothing electrically — it’s the layer that takes the wear instead of the cable. Terminated with G&H Bigfoot nickel connectors, hand-soldered with lead-free ROHS-compliant silver solder, built to order and tested before it ships. Backed by our lifetime warranty.
