This is the cable to wire a room with. Van Damme has been supplying British studios since the late eighties, and their cable has gone into successive refits at Abbey Road across three decades — the kind of relationship you only get from cable that behaves the same way on year fifteen as it did on day one. Set it once, in a wall box or the back of a rack or along a studio floor, and it will still be doing its job long after you’ve forgotten it’s there.
What earns it that job is consistency. Tightly packed cotton fillers hold the twisted pair in a fixed geometry down the entire length, so the cable behaves the same at thirty feet as it does at three, instead of shifting wherever it happens to bend or get compressed. That matters most in exactly the place this cable belongs — a permanent run you tune once and never think about again. The same fillers stop static building up inside the jacket.
The conductors mix silver-plated and bare ultra-pure oxygen-free copper — 7 strands of one and 21 of the other — under a close-lapped copper screen, which Van Damme chose as the balance point between shielding coverage and the ability to bend. The jacket is 0.250″ (6.35mm) of PVC and neoprene composite, rated to stay flexible below freezing, with a minimum bend radius of ten times the diameter.
Terminated with black Neutrik XX connectors and gold contacts, in XLR or TRS, hand-soldered with lead-free ROHS-compliant silver solder, built to order and tested before it ships. Backed by our lifetime warranty.
