Buy the GS-6 for how long it lasts. The centre conductor is 18AWG made up of 127 individual strands of 0.1mm oxygen-free copper, and that stranding is the whole point — a conductor built from many fine strands survives being coiled, uncoiled, and bent at the plug thousands of times in a way that a coarser one does not.
Built to order with a discontinued Neutrik NP2C straight plug on one end and an NP2RX right-angle on the other, both nickel. Neutrik no longer make the NP2C, and once ours are gone that is the end of them. Soldered by hand with lead-free, RoHS compliant silver solder and tested before it ships. The GS-6 is the more rugged cable by some distance, but the Van Damme XKE is easier to live with — softer, lighter, and it coils flat instead of fighting you. Available custom sleeved in nineteen colours. And if low capacitance is the priority, the Sommer SC-Spirit LLX runs 15.8 pF/ft.
